As we get closer to Cruising the Coast – the memories begin to resurface.
Cruising the Coast is in Biloxi, Mississippi and i can’t help but remember the first time that we went. It was such an experience. I feel everyone should go just once 🙂
If you are car nuts like us, this is the candy jar of them all. There are so many old cars, so much to do and so much to see, you will not want to leave. I believe you will not be disappointed either.
The first time we went we were just awe struck. Not only is Biloxi a beautiful city, but the cars…..my goodness.
We went to auctions (and drooled),
We went to cruise in’s (and we drooled)
And we cruised the boulevard and again (we drooled).
I am fixing to get real ladies. first off, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you liking cars.
They are kind of like relationships or someone else’s partner though – you can look but you best not touch. (Another lesson learned the hard way – will save that for another post)
As I sat there in the restaurant at one of the dinners, I listened to these people talk a foreign language. I had been around cars most all of my life, but man some of the phrases they were using were beyond me. But the best part of the conversations that i heard the couples talking about were about the things that they had done “together”. The adventures that these couples had taken and the loving way they talked about each other and their cars. I knew right there I wanted to be a part of this journey. I knew that this was something that my hubs and I could do together and we would be able to meet neat folks along the way. Good folks.
But more than that, I listened to the couple of folks that had lost their spouses. I listened to them share such awesome stories of their love for one another and their love for their cars. The one thing that resonated with me was the way that they all said, “don’t waste time, do it now, follow the dream and never look back.“
I knew this journey was beginning and I new we were in for a fun ride.
One thing i want to reiterate though. Ladies you don’t have to have a “man” to do this; but if you are blessed enough to have one that likes cars – go for it. Get off the couch, get out of that store, get in that old car with no AC and no heat and “rough as hell” and enjoy the ride. God has given you a wonderful opportunity – SEIZE IT.
Be blessed, and lets get rolling down the road of old cars.
Lovingly, Ms. O.C.D.
