This morning I have been sitting on the porch thinking about all the fun we have had with our cars and our camping experiences. One that I remembered and will cherish forever is the Conroe Swap Meet 2018 and Two Little Fellas. I will tell you the story and I hope you find it as entertaining as I did.

We took the car hauler camper down to Conroe TX on a Friday to the annual swap meet. My full intentions were to “sell some stuff” that we had been hanging onto for quite sometime. We also took the opportunity to invite two of the little’s (Brody and Reid) to come along with us for the adventure. They are “all boy” and they kept us on our toes on Friday. They rode around on the golf cart with Paw and all of his buddies. They rode around on my cousin (BJ’s) electric scooter through the aisles and through the mud. They even followed BJ around some too. (I am sure he was super thrilled about that). They helped me “sell stuff” and even made their own sign out of a box lid. (which i still have in the shed by the way) For two little guys it was a long hot day, but we never heard a complaint. As the day was ending we all went to supper (Brody, Reid, Paw, BJ and Me). They made it through supper without falling asleep. They ate and we laughed and I heard some “tall tales” about the day.

When we got back to the camper we were all sitting around and telling stories and laughing some more about the day. Paw showed them how to prepare the camper for the night while I made the beds inside. Before the night ended, BJ made the mistake of asking them about what they wanted for breakfast. Honestly, I could have popped him because I already had breakfast planned. It was going to be something easy to pop in the microwave because I was tired !! What did they say…..DONUTS……we are in the middle of a swap meet and where am I suppose to get DONUTS. I finally said guys, you will have what you have and we will not be up “too early”. (wink wink). Paw, me and the two little’s go inside and BJ leaves for home. We settle in for the night. After watching a movie, giggling and laughing, and giggling and laughing some more and a few “mild threats” everyone fell asleep.

The next morning about 4:45 a.m. I hear little rustling sounds coming from their bed. I am thinking NNNNNOOOOO it is way too early. Then all of a sudden I hear the distinct sound of a huge dodge truck and it is barreling down the street. I know then someone is fixing to knock on that door. I was right – those little heads popped up, that knock on the door came and when they opened it, there he was. My cousin BJ with a hand full of donuts and all I could see was two very happy little boys. He laughed, they laughed, I groaned and Paw covered up his head. It was no use. The day had started and we were up whether we wanted to be or not.

The one thing I can remember is their smiling faces, sugar and icing all over it and them doing their “cock-a-doodle-doo” over and over. I still laugh every time think about it.

At the end of that Saturday, Paw taught them how to break camp, we got a rescue dog from my sister (that’s another long story) to bring back to Crockett and we came home with less “stuff” and a ton of precious memories from the Swap Meet.

Time is short, life is precious…..always try to make memories while you can.

God Bless.
