Adventure with Paw Chopping Perfectly Good Truck

One of our grandsons came to visit and my hubs decided that he wanted to begin the building of the TX Hillbilly Truck. I was a bit skeptical, but as I have traveled this journey I have learned to listen, learn and keep the flapper shut at times. That has been a valuable lesson to say the least. Am I submissive – hardly. Do I get run over – absolutely not. But I have learned that zipping it up and letting it play out can be quite comical at times.

Back to the story ~

Our oldest grandson had come to stay the night and he and his paw were out at the shop Those two together can always spell trouble but i am so very glad they get to experience life together.

I was in the house doing whatever I had to do and Brody came running in the house all excited – “Grannie, Paw is cutting the top off that big old truck.” I said, “OK, that is good” and sent him on his way. I thought – surely he wasn’t serious.

A few minutes later he comes back in the house even more excited and he says – “Grannie, Paw is taking the windshield out of that big old truck.”. I said again, “OK, that is fine” and sent him back out the door. I thought – surely not, he has to be exaggerating....

A little bit later curiosity gets the best of me and i go out side. There they are, driving around the property in “what was” a perfectly good old grain truck.

This truck now has – no top, no windshield and is open and exposed to the world (and the elements) I truly don’t know who is grinning the most, Paw or Brody. The TX Hillbilly Truck has begun.

So had the memories….that little boy will never forget how he helped paw cut up a perfectly good old truck and how they “showed grannie” they could do it.

Memories big and small are what life is about – not about the perfection, not about the best of everything but about the best of life.

Ladies, let them chop it up if they want too, let them paint it a god awful color if that’s what they want to do. Laugh at their antics, laugh at their jokes and remember – there is always someone going thought the same drama at their garage. They will tell you all about it at the next cruise in and you can laugh together and talk about how “crazy life really is”

Be blessed, and get those cars rolling and start making those memories.

Lovingly, Ms O.C.D.
